Canada: Police Launch Investigation After Adults Offered Kids Puppies. Turns Out They Did Offer Kids Puppies.

Adults In Van Offering Kids Puppies 'Innocent Mistake': Ottawa Cops.

OTTAWA - A police investigation of two adults in a white van who reportedly offered kids puppies found the suspects didn't have bad intentions - they were actually just showing the youngsters a puppy.

Police received a report last weekend of the suspicious van in Chesterville, located southeast of Ottawa. Officers were told two adults were talking to youngsters and offering them puppies.

Police appealed to the public for any information on the white van or its occupants, and reminded parents to talk about safety with their kids.

On Thursday, police said their investigation revealed what happened was "innocent in nature."

The two people from the van went to police, told them they lived in the area, thought they knew the young children in Chesterville and were just showing them a puppy, police said.
