(CNN) -- First came word of a woman stabbed. Then screams. Then gunshots.

But the full story of Thursday's gruesome beheading at an Oklahoma food processing plant -- especially why it happened -- is still waiting to be told.

One day later, there are tears for Colleen Hufford, the 54-year-old woman whose head was severed. There are prayers for 43-year-old Traci Johnson, who is in stable condition at a nearby hospital for treatment of "numerous wounds," according to police.

And there are questions about 30-year-old Alton Alexander Nolen, the man who authorities say attacked them both and might have gone after more people if not for the company's CEO, also an off-duty reserve sheriff's deputy, who confronted and shot him twice. Read More

Obama Meets With Nation’s Schizophrenic Voices To Urge Less Violence

(theonion) - WASHINGTON—With the nation still reeling from Monday’s mass shooting inside the Washington Navy Yard, President Barack Obama held a bilateral meeting with the country’s schizophrenic voices earlier today, urging the disembodied auditory hallucinations to join him in helping to reduce violence.

The special summit, which was open to reporters, began at 9 a.m. in the White House’s East Room, where the president and over 2.5 million schizophrenic voices of various degrees of intensity from all across America engaged in an open dialogue covering issues as varied as violence in America, mental health care, the incessant wriggling of worms, gun control, the tearing of the flesh, and the passage of meaningful legislation.

Mexico clashes between police & armed drug gang leave 22 dead

(Telegraph) - Heavily armed men clashed with federal police in six towns in Mexico's Michoacan state, leaving 22 people dead in the bloodletting, the Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday.

"So far, we have two federal police killed, 20 presumed criminals shot dead and another 15 people under arrest," the ministry's National Security Council said in a statement.

(Telegraph) - A Nebraska bus driver accused of assaulting a passenger repeatedly punched the man before dragging him off the vehicle and leaving him on the side of a road, surveillance video shows.

Officials released the video and announced 43-year-old Troy Fischer had since been fired from his job at StarTran Bus Service, according to a local newspaper report. He is being investigated on suspicion of assault following the incident.

The video shows Mr Fischer communicating with the lone passenger. At some point, Mr Fischer becomes agitated with the man. He stops the bus and begins attacking him. The video shows him punching the passenger 18 times. He then drags him off the bus and leaves him on the side of a road.

Miki Esposito, director for the city's Public Works and Utilities Department, said Mr Fischer was initially suspended without pay after the incident. But he was fired after a disciplinary hearing that allowed him to rebut the allegations.

Investigators have been unable to reach the man in the video, who provided an address and phone number to police on the day of the attack.

Multiple People Wounded In Texas School Shooting.

- Multiple people were shot in a shooting at Lone Star College in north Houston, Texas some time before 12:50 PM. Police are describing the incident as an “altercation between two individuals,” one of whom had student ID and a hand gun. Both are now in police custody and experienced gun wounds. A maintenance man was caught in the crossfire and was shot in the leg. A woman on the scene was hospitalized for a medical condition.

The Lone Star website states that the college employs armed police officers and unarmed security guards. Five days ago, Texas Sen. Brian Birdwell (R) and 13 other Republican authors introduced legislation that would allow individuals with concealed weapon permits to carry firearms on campus. The measure failed in the last legislative session, but is now up for debate in the aftermath of the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

Responding to today’s incident, Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) told KTRK’s Ted Oberg that students were “defenseless” during the shooting and said that public colleges should decide whether or not teachers and students can carry weapons on campus.

KTRK reports that the Lone Start shooting in Texas is the nation’s 5th school shooting in 2013. The U.S. experienced 49 shootings since Columbine in 1999.

New Mexico Teen Charged In Deaths Of Two Adults; Three Children.

- A 15-year-old boy has been charged in the shooting deaths of two adults and three children in southwest Albuquerque, N.M., local police said.

The suspect, identified by Bernalillo County police as Nehemiah Griego, has been arrested and placed in a juvenile detention center. He is charged with two counts of murder and three counts of "child abuse resulting in death," according to a police statement.

Mass Shooting At Batman Movie Premiere Kills 12 injures 59.

(CNSNews.com) - Armed with a rifle, at least one handgun, and what's thought to be a tear-gas canister, a "young adult male" said to be wearing a gas mask opened fire at the midnight premiere of the new Batman movie early Friday morning in Aurora, Colorado, a Denver suburb, police said.

At an afternoon news conference, police said 71 people were shot - 12 people were dead and 59 injured.

This city has been called one of the most violent places in the world outside of war zones, & the police force is known to be corrupt. The blame for this violence is often attributed to the Mexican government, but others blame the ongoing American war on drugs that facilitates the illegal drug trade.

Bogota’s main problem lies in the drug trade and extremist political groups rebelling against the Colombian government, but fortunately there have been some improvements since the 90′s. The north side of the city is absolutely more safe that the southern regions, it’s advisable to stay in this area & no to wander past the city limits. Bogota is a great tourist destination with lots to see, just be careful and don’t stray too far from safe areas.

Baghdad suffers from a very unstable political climate with many different factions destroying the city in their own way.
