Satair?:Texas men would face fine for masturbating, need rectal exam for Viagra under "proposed" law

*The following contains strong sexual language

DallasNews - If state Rep. Jessica Farrar has her way, men in Texas will pay a $100 fine for "unregulated masturbatory emissions" and undergo a digital rectal exam to get a vasectomy, a colonoscopy or a Viagra prescription.

Farrar's proposed legislation, filed last week, calls on the Department of State Health Services to explain the rules in an illustrated booklet titled "A Man's Right to Know."

Sound familiar? The Houston Democrat's bill is a satirical version of a Texas law passed in 2011 that requires women to have a sonogram and hear a detailed description of the fetus before getting an abortion. Those rules are outlined in a booklet produced by the state called "A Woman's Right to Know."

"A lot of people find the bill funny," Farrar told the Houston Chronicle. "What's not funny are the obstacles that Texas women face every day, that were placed there by legislatures making it very difficult for them to access health care."

Farrar's bill penalizes masturbatory emissions outside a vagina or a medical facility, describing them as "an act against an unborn child" that fails to preserve "the sanctity of life."

Fines collected under the measure would be funneled to the Department of Family and Protective Services for the care of children.

The lawmaker proposes that the state keep a registry of private hospitals and organizations that counsel men to stay "fully abstinent," offer physicians to supervise masturbation and store semen for future conception.

Men seeking a vasectomy, a colonoscopy or a Viagra prescription would first undergo a "medically unnecessary" digital rectal exam and magnetic resonance imaging of the rectum, per Farrar's bill. After the exam, men would have to wait at least 24 hours before they could get the procedure or the prescription they wanted.

These provisions of the Democrat's bill echo the 2011 Texas law requiring women to take two trips to a clinic to get an abortion. The bill also calls on the state to include medically accurate and objective information in its booklet for men.

The "Woman's Right to Know" pamphlet that Texas women must receive 24 hours before an abortion has been criticized for listing refuted research linking abortion to a higher risk of breast cancer. (ontinueReading

Dilma Rousseff Is Ousted as Brazil’s President in Impeachment Vote

(nytimes) - BRASÍLIA — The Senate on Wednesday September 1 impeached Dilma Rousseff, Brazil’s first female president, and removed her from office for the rest of her term, the capstone of a power struggle that has consumed the nation for months and toppled one of the hemisphere’s most powerful political parties.

The Senate voted 61 to 20 to convict Ms. Rousseff on charges of manipulating the federal budget in an effort to conceal the nation’s mounting economic problems.

But the final removal of Ms. Rousseff, who was suspended in May to face trial, was much more than a judgment of guilt on any charge. It was a verdict on her leadership and the slipping fortunes of Latin America’s largest country.

The impeachment puts a definitive end to 13 years of governing by the leftist Workers’ Party, an era during which Brazil’s economy boomed, lifting millions into the middle class and raising the country’s profile on the global stage.

But sweeping corruption scandals, the worst economic crisis in decades and the government’s tone-deaf responses to the souring national mood opened Ms. Rousseff to withering scorn, leaving her with little support to fend off apower grab by her political rivals.

“She lacked it all,” said Mentor Muniz Neto, a writer from São Paulo who described Ms. Rousseff’s final ouster as a “death foretold,” asserting that she lacked charisma, competence and humility. “We deserved better.”

To her many critics, the impeachment was a fitting fall for an arrogant leader at the helm of a political movement that had lost its way. But Ms. Rousseff and her supporters call her ouster a coup that undermines Brazil’s young democracy. (Full Text)

Brazil President Dilma Rousseff takes stand in impeachment trial

Brasília, Brazil (CNN) - President Dilma Rousseff insisted Monday she had committed no crime and said she was proud that she'd been "faithful to my commitment to the nation."

Brazil's post-Olympic high came to an end as Rousseff's impeachment trial began. Her remarks from the Senate floor suggested the suspended president had no intention of accepting the bid for her impeachment without a fight.

"I'll plan and fight for democracy," she said. "I don't fight for my term for the power, but I fight for the democracy for truth and justice and the people of my country."

It's not clear if an impassioned speech will do any good. The tide of opinion is against her, and the appearance is widely expected to be her last public address.

It's a jarring return to reality for the South American nation, with the final vote in the drama following the celebrations that came with Rio de Janeiro hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The impeachment process has dragged on for months, predating the Olympic torch lighting ceremony -- a glitzy showpiece that, despite orchestrating, Rousseff was barred from attending. It's a political crisis that ordinary Brazilians could do well without -- the country is trying to pick itself out of recession.

Oh Canada!: Canada’s national anthem is likely to become ‘gender neutral’

{Washingtonpost} - Canada's lower house of Parliament voted Wednesday (June15) to tweak the words to the national anthem so that it is "gender neutral." The bill will now move to the Senate.

Currently, the English version of "O Canada" contains the words "true patriot love, in all thy sons command" — and the second clause would be replaced with "in all of us command."

Canada's new prime minster, Justin Trudeau, has been hailed as a feminist leader and made his cabinet the first to have equal numbers of men and women. His Liberal Party controls the House of Commons, and the vote to change the anthem was passed resoundingly. Patty Hadju, the Status of Women minister, said of the move: "I think it’s really important as a very strong symbol of our commitment to gender equality in this country."

The bill was introduced by Mauril Bélanger, who has championed the cause for many years. The bill was tabled once before, in 2010, and it was voted down by the previous Conservative-led government. But the move has gained greater urgency since Bélanger received a diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The disease is terminal.

There are concerns that the Canadian Senate, which usually does pass bills sent to it by the House of Commons, won't get around to the bill before Bélanger passes away.

"O Canada" was composed in 1880, and its original version was in French. The English version is an adaptation, not translation, of the French, and was written decades later. It didn't become the national anthem until 1980. The French version has gender-neutral language.

Lawmakers in the House of Commons stood and sang the anthem in both national languages after the vote passed Wednesday. It wasn't clear whether the English version they sang had the amended clause. (Full Story)

Thanksgiving not popular for all Americans, especially the original inhabitants

But, Black Thursday!

(usatoday) - As millions of Americans sit down to celebrate Thanksgiving today, some Native Americans are pushing back, urging the country to remember the implications of white settlement on indigenous cultures.

As they have for decades, hundreds of people participated in a “National Day of Mourning” in Plymouth, Mass. on Thursday afternoon near where the first Thanksgiving is thought to have taken place. Not everyone wants to hear that message while gorging on turkey and filling Facebook with thanks for friends, families and good lives.

“Sometimes we’re told to go back where we came from, which is pretty ironic,” said Mahtowin Munro, co-leader of United American Indians of New England, which organizes the annual protest march.

Some of the frustration centers around what some Native Americans see as their relegation to supporting players at that first celebration, rather than people with long-existing culture, knowledge and government. History puts the first thanksgiving in 1621 at Plymouth, between Pilgrims and members of the Wampanoag tribe.

"They are depicted as nameless, faceless, generic “Indians” who merely shared a meal with the intrepid Pilgrims. The real story is much deeper, richer, and more nuanced,” says the National Museum of the American Indian, which this year released a guide for teachers covering Thanksgiving. "For the English, interaction with the Wampanoags enabled their colony’s survival. Although the English were interlopers, the Wampanoags shared their land, food, and knowledge of the environment.”

The museum suggests that teachers help students understand that Native Americans haven’t vanished from American life, even through many were forcibly resettled from their traditional lands onto reservations in far less desirable areas, to make room for European-style farming and villages.

Munro said her objection to Thanksgiving is the cultural whitewashing that allows most Americans to ignore what happened to the native population. She said most people are taught a “fantasy history” that ignores or downplays the widespread slaughter of her people and the theft of their traditional lands, the damming of their rivers, and the deliberate slaughter of bison. For them, the Thanksgiving holiday remains an affront.

“As indigenous people, we’ve been taught by our elders to give thanks every day,” she said. "We are a people who have survived genocide. People able to gather with our families is very important to us.” (Full Text)

More Americans On Welfare Than Work Full Time?

We need a revolution..

(townhall.com) - A new report from the Census Bureau showed a total of 108,592,000 people were on some sort of means-tested government benefits program in the fourth quarter of 2011, yet only 101,716,000 people were employed full-time for the entire year.

A individual counted as a beneficiary of a means-tested program if they resided in a household where someone received benefits.

Means-tested benefits programs are the second-largest category of government spending. The government spends more on these programs than public education and defense spending. From a Heritage Foundation report:

The 69 means-tested programmes operated by the federal government provide a wide variety of benefits. They include:

12 programmes providing food aid;

10 housing assistance programs;

10 programmes funding social services;

9 educational assistance programmes;

8 programmes providing cash assistance;

8 vocational training programmes;

7 medical assistance programs;

3 energy and utility assistance programmes; and,

2 child care and child development programmes.

Programmes such as Social Security, unemployment insurance, workers compensation, and veterans benefits are not considered to be "means tested," so recipients of those benefits are not included in the 108,592,000 figure.

Clearly, this is a huge problem. A country cannot survive if its citizens are not willing or able to work. In 35 states welfare pays better than an actual job. This is what we call an "incentive"--and the U.S. is incentivizing people to not work. Why would a person actually get a job if they could be paid more to stay home? InPennsylvania, a single women with children working a job that pays $29,000 a year actually receives $57,345 in total income when benefits are factored in. Conversely, if the woman were to work a job that paid $69,000 a year, her net pay after taxes is only $57,045.

If the woman were to make more than her $29,000 salary, she would miss out in nearly $30,000 in government benefits. Short of winning the lottery or developing some sort of hot product, a person's income is not going to increase rapidly from $29,000 to $69,000. This is referred to as the "welfare cliff." There is no incentive for the woman to better her life and stop receiving welfare.

This is a major problem with how means-tested benefits are distributed in the United States, yet nobody is actually doing anything about it. The amount of people on SNAP (food stamps) has nearly doubled since 2006, despite the economic recovery. This is not good.

Disability claims are also at record highs. Even 60 Minutes thought those numbers were suspicious and did an investigation about it. The system is being gamed.

If American welfare recipients were counted as a country, they would be the 12th largest in the world.

This is not change we can believe in. (Source)

Man Going To Trust Society’s Determination That He Deserves His Privilege

(TheOnion) IRVINE, CA—Assuming that the many benefits he enjoys every day would not have been granted to him if he weren’t fully entitled to them, local man Brandon Naylor told reporters Wednesday he is willing to accept society’s determination that he deserves his privilege.

“If our culture has decided I get to live a life of ease and limitless opportunity—and clearly it has—there’s got to be a good reason for that, right?” said the 29-year-old, who reportedly possesses such advantages as financial security, the routine deference of almost everyone he meets, and a general freedom from discomfort or want. “As far back as I can remember, I’ve been helped along by a social order that has smoothed the path in front of me, and I can’t imagine that would continue to happen if it weren’t somehow justified.”

“There’s really no other explanation if you think about it,” he added.

As a result, Naylor stated, he has full faith society has acted fairly in bestowing upon him a relatively privileged upbringing in a safe neighborhood, quickly approved loan applications, the ability to get a job interview just about anywhere with a few phone calls, and, generally speaking, the benefit of the doubt in almost every area of his life. The Orange County native reasoned that the hundreds of millions of people who compose society had made a conscious, collective decision to grant him such perks, and that it was not for him to question their judgment.

Pointing to his strong educational advantages and the fact that he has never once felt threatened by law enforcement, Naylor acknowledged his situation contrasts starkly with that of individuals who lack the resources necessary to ensure they will never have to try particularly hard to obtain the things they want.

“I look around and see a lot of people who don’t have what I have, which leads me to conclude our social institutions have these built-in disparities for a purpose—one that I trust makes perfect sense,” he said, explaining that “someone probably would have done something about it” otherwise. “In fact, I would go so far as to presume that, for some reason or another, these people do not deserve the same personal, professional, and monetary leg up that I’ve had every step of the way. It’s just common sense.”

Though the Claremont McKenna College graduate conceded he cannot remember doing anything that would warrant him receiving the helpful connections with others in high places, the fast track to professional advancement, and the plain old social standing that have allowed him to pursue his happiness unimpeded, he remarked that he is not the only one to have been afforded such benefits. Indeed, he pointed to numerous similarly advantaged individuals around him whose situations, he has deduced, must also be justified.

“Most of my friends and coworkers seem to be pretty well set as far as being successful and fulfilled goes, so society must have decided they deserve it, too,” Naylor said. “And come to think of it, everyone in my family also has a pretty easy life. It’s been that way for generations, actually.”

“And unless something changes, my plan is to just keep going with it,” he added. “I guess it’s possible things could be different someday, but I kind of doubt it.”

Australia: Is it okay to swear at sheep?

5/23/15 (Time) A complaint by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) over the abuse of animals at a remote Australian sheep station has prompted a debate over whether sheep can be cursed at.
The Australian Broadcasting Corp. (ABC) reports that PETA’s complaint, made in September 2014, was not solely about verbal abuse, but the use of offensive language toward the animals was an element of the complaint that had been taken seriously by animal-welfare organization the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).
Steve Coleman, CEO of the New South Wales branch of the RSPCA, told the ABC that the organization would investigate “an allegation that puts at risk an animal, that would cause it unnecessary suffering.”

Study: Only 40 Percent of Liberals Are ‘Proud to Be American’

I blame the patriarchy..

(washisngtonfreebeacon) - If you are a “solid liberal” in the United States, you are unlikely to be “proud to be American,” according to a new Pew Research poll.

The Washington Post explains:

According to a new Pew Research Center study, only 40 percent of consistently liberal Americans say they often feel proud to be Americans.

The other 60 percent say that doesn’t describe them. [...]

By contrast, more than seven in 10 “steadfast conservatives” and eight in 10 “business conservatives” say they are generally proud to be Americans.

The poll results also show that only half of liberals see themselves as “typical Americans.”

The poll also shows many liberals don’t liken themselves to your average American. Just 51 percent say they feel as though they are ”typical Americans” — as compared to three-quarters of conservatives and at least two-thirds of all the other groups.

Debauchery! Seattle approves $15 minimum wage as conservatives decry fascism

(CNN) - Seattle's city council on Monday unanimously approved an increase in the city's minimum wage to $15 an hour, making it the nation's highest by far.

The increase was formally proposed by Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, and his spokesman said he intends to sign the ordinance on Tuesday.

Washington already has the nation's highest state-level minimum wage, at $9.32. That rate also applies to the city.

The current federal minimum wage is $7.25, and Democrats in Congress have been pushing for a gradual increase to $10.10, but so far to little effect.

RuPaul on LGBT speech police: ‘Bitch you need to get stronger'

Big Hollywood

- Transgender activists and LGBT advocacy groups have turned against drag icon RuPaul for his use of words like “shemale” and “tranny” on his program RuPaul’s Drag Race. In an interview with Marc Maron, RuPaul dismissed the criticism as a product of “fringe people who are looking for storylines to strengthen their identity as victims.”

Appearing on Maron’s podcast WTF, RuPaul discussed extensively his childhood, history with performance, and decision to take up drag. Towards the end of the podcast, Maron brought up a controversy that has consumed Drag Race in the past month, as transgender activists and GLAAD have called for RuPaul to self-censor, leading to the cancelation of two segments on the program: a fan message segment titled “You’ve Got Shemail” and ”Female or Shemale,” in which contestants had to guess whether a person was a cisgender woman or a transgender woman.

The program has hosted transgender contestants, who released statements calling for increased awareness of hurtful language. RuPaul himself and the producers of the show released a statement in March, stating: ”When it comes to the movement of our trans sisters and trans brothers, we are newly sensitized and more committed than ever to help spread love, acceptance and understanding.”
RuPaul himself appears to have found the situation extremely frustrating, however. RuPaul told Maron he “loves” the word “tranny,” to which GLAAD and other groups have objected, and denounced censorship of words in the LGBT community: “If your idea of happiness has to do with someone else changing–what they say, what they do–you are in for a fucking hard-ass road.”

Events to mark 60 years since Topeka’s Brown v. Board broke the back of Jim Crow.

(Kansas.com) - It has been 60 years since the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education was handed down.

The decision – which struck down an earlier court decision that upheld the practice of “separate but equal” – offered hope and opened doors.

“The strategy of the lawyers and NAACP was to eliminate and break the back of Jim Crow,” said Deborah Dandridge, archivist for the University of Kansas’ African-American Collections in Lawrence. “Jim Crow” was the collective name given to segregation laws.

“Once the separate-but-equal issue was challenged in public schools, all the rest fell away,” Dandridge said. “It broke the back of Jim Crow.”

First Lady Michelle Obama will speak Friday in Topeka to commemorate the decision’s anniversary, which was handed down May 17, 1954. Obama will speak at 6 p.m. to graduating seniors in the Topeka school district at the Kansas Expocentre. The event is not open to the public but will be livestreamed at www.ustream.tv/channel/high-school-commencement.

Minnesota: Minneapolis creates Indigenous People's Day on Columbus Day

(minnpost) - Indigenous People's Day — celebrating the heritage and contributions of Native Americans in Minneapolis — won unanimous support of the City Council at a meeting that overflowed the council chambers.

Beginning this fall, the holiday will be celebrated on October's second Monday, the day the state and federal governments designate as Columbus Day.

“We are sending a signal across the nation and to the global community that we make these changes in the spirit of truth-telling,” Council Member Alondra Cano told a gathering before the Council meeting.

“This is not about Columbus; he is not the center of our existence,” added Cano, who led the drive to establish a new name for the holiday. “This is about the power of the American Indian and people in indigenous communities all over the world.”

Seventeen-Year-Old Faces Felony Weapons Charge Over Fishing Knives in Tackle Box

(moonbattery) - One of the many reasons no sane person would want to be ruled by liberals is their terrifyingly irrational doctrine of zero tolerance for anything they don’t like, which prominently includes objects they regard as weapons. An example from Georgia:
A Cobb County high school senior was charged with the felony of bringing weapons into a school zone after police found fishing knives in a tackle box in his car. Cody Chitwood, a 17-year-old student at Lassiter High School and avid fisherman, turned himself in and was released on $1,000 bond.
Police were performing a random sweep, and drug-sniffing dogs detected black powder in Chitwood’s car. The powder was residue from a firecracker that had been in the car since Fourth of July, but it was enough to a warrant a full search that turned up the fishing-related weaponry.
Now I get why the Founding Fathers wrote the Fourth Amendment.
Young Cody could get as much as 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, despite having done nothing whatsoever wrong. His hopes of serving his country by enlisting in the Air Force apparently have been dashed. But at least his school is safe from rogue fishing knives that might somehow find their way out of the tackle box, out of his car, and into the school.

Jenny McCarthy to join ABC's 'The View' as co-host to promote her anti-vaccines nonsense.

infowars: Jenny McCarthy defeats vaccine fanatics to join ABC’s The View as co-host

- Jenny McCarthy repelled a massive attack from enemies of health freedom to land a co-host role at ABC’s flagship morning talk show The View.

You can tell this is a huge victory for health freedom by the howls of indignation from the advocates of forced medication. The mere suggestion that Jenny might question mandatory vaccines on such a prominent national media platform is enough to send authoritarian medical mafia types into conniptions.

Vaccine pushers have an unshakeable faith in vaccines. They are either ignorant of or deliberately concealing knowledge of vaccine failure and vaccine injury. Most of them have probably never read the medical textbook definition of a vaccine adverse reaction, the same definition that is on vaccine package inserts and the same thing that afflicts a generation of vaccine damaged children – encephalitis.

Diversity: Atheists Unveil Monument Near Ten Commandments.

(Associated Press) A group of atheists unveiled a monument to their nonbelief in God on Saturday to sit alongside a granite slab that lists the Ten Commandments in front of the Bradford County courthouse.

As a small group of protesters blasted Christian country music and waved “Honk for Jesus” signs, the atheists celebrated what they believe is the first atheist monument allowed on government property in the United States.

“When you look at this monument, the first thing you will notice is that it has a function. Atheists are about the real and the physical, so we selected to place this monument in the form of a bench,” said David Silverman, president of American Atheists.

Anal Hazing Hits US High Schools.

Via moonbattery.com:

- Where you have moonbattery, you have unintended consequences even more pernicious than what liberals planned to impose. For example, the aggressive campaign against “bullying” is intended to normalize homosexual deviancy among schoolchildren. A consequence of authorities constantly ramming home their obscene belief that the anus is a sex organ:

"In the last year, there have been more than a dozen hazing incidents around the country involving high school boys who have sodomized other boys with foreign objects, reports Bloomberg. Over 40 boys have been reported victims. Most have been younger students.

There’s a dearth of data concerning the size and scope of the national boy-on-boy anal hazing problem. Astonishingly, though, a study published in the Journal of Youth and Adolescence has claimed that nearly 10 percent of high school males report suffering some form of sexual assault including, in some cases, forced oral sex or rape."

A few examples of the new craze:

"Three former soccer players at La Puente High School in the suburban sprawl east of Los Angeles were convicted of sexually assaulting other students with a javelin and a broken flagpole, reports Southern California Public Radio.

A bit farther east, in Fontana, Calif., underage students allegedly tried to place a piece of rebar inside the anal cavity of another student, according to NBC Southern California. There was a similar incident involving a broom handle. Prosecutors say a masonry teacher was present at the time and knew what was happening."

In tiny Greenfield, Iowa, a group of members of the Nodaway Valley High School wrestling team allegedly pinned down a 16-year-old teammate and sexually assaulted him because he had missed practice. An unidentified student told ABC affiliate KCRG that older wrestlers ordinarily forced jump role handles into the anuses of younger wrestlers who missed practice or failed to make weight.

A particularly alarming case occurred in Norwood, Colorado:

Three varsity wrestlers bound a 13-year-old boy with duct tape on a bus — at the state wrestling meet — and sodomized him with a pencil.

This wouldn’t be terribly unusual these days, except that the victim was the principal’s son. Everyone else sided with the attackers, who were given token 1-day in-schools suspensions, roughly 1/1,000,000 the punishment they would have received for saying the word “fag.” The principal was forced to move to another town.

At least we know that students have been paying attention during ever-earlier, sodomy-friendly sex ed indoctrination:

Three male students — two third-graders and a fifth-grader — at an elementary school in New York City forced a third-grade boy to perform oral sex on them, according to a disturbing lawsuit.

Did that ever happen when you were in grade school?

America is getting fundamentally transformed, all right.
